Different coolers for different purposes. It the cooler goes in the boat, you don't want wheels.

The invention of the wheel is not precisely known, but the earliest evidence points to its origin in Mesopotamia (modern-day Iraq) or the Carpathian Mountains around 3500–4000 BCE, first used as a potter's wheel and then for wheeled vehicles. The oldest preserved wheel dates to around 3100 BCE in Slovenia

Guess you missed the part of the description that says "MARINE" meaning use in a boat.

Wheels on a cooler in a boat, no bueno

I have a folding dolly that would hold this thing easy. Recently did a 3 day camping trip with a buddy who had one of these. Third morning after 3 days of 80 degree midday heat, and the ice cubes were still mostly square and looked like he had only dumped them in a few hours before.

Pre chilling your cooler and your drinks will go a long way in getting these things to last.

Because carrying it fully loaded from your car to your boat is more fun.

I specifically don't want wheels, but to each their own.

Would probably last 10x longer. This one is garbage. Way too many reviews with broken hinges and handles. Hard pass

The wheels should retract when on a level surface so it doesn't roll on a boat. A simple design feature so it has many uses.

Or the wheels don't touch the ground when laying flat. The only way the Bodega cooler I use rolls is if one side is being lifted up.

All this circlejerking about wheels / no wheels. There's no absolute answer.

At the very least you could fill it with cold water which can be around 50-60F and let it sit for 10 minutes. No different than putting hot water in a coffee cup then dumping it out before putting (hot) coffee in it so the coffee will actually be hot when you drink it.
