I opened mine up and checked the hardware. It ships with a single 12 GB DDR5-4800 stick and one open RAM slot. The board supports up to 64 GB total (2×32 GB). The main SSD is a Micron 2500 Gen 4×4 in the M.2 2280 slot. There's a second open M.2 slot next to the Wi-Fi card, and it actually has mounting posts for both 2242 and 2280 drives, so it supports either size. You can add another full-length 2280 NVMe drive there.

1x 12GB SO-DIMM DDR5-4800; Two DDR5 SO-DIMM slots, dual-channel capable
dumb question, cause im 5. So can I just add another 12gb on top of it for dual channel? or dual channel only go with 4,8,16,32gb etc?
You can. DDR5 appears to be the first standard to support 12GB DIMMS / SODIMMs, and you can find identical speed 12GB SODIMMs on Amazon and eBay.

Apart from this, that 12GB RAM is a serious handicap and it's silly for a laptop to ship with a dGPU and under 16GB RAM in 2025. Upgrade to at least 16GB, or you'll run into serious memory issues with most modern games. 24GB RAM should be acceptable with this laptop, but if it were me, I'd recommend replacing at 12GB 4800 SODIMM with 2x16GB DDR5 5600. 5600 appears to be the max speed this series can support.

After that, your real limitation will be that 4 core CPU. Most modern games are now being designed to take advantage of 6 or more cores. It likely will not hold back that RTX 4050 however, so this laptop makes for a decent low-end gaming laptop once the RAM is upgraded. The 6GB VRAM is yet another limitation, so don't expect this to run Ultra-level textures at 1080p with any AAA game from the past 3 years.
4050 has very well developed and supported DLSS. This allows these laptops which are all around 1080p to basically max out all games even new ones. DLSS on 1080p is extremely hard not to get 75+ FPS with this hardware. It allows these laptops to last significantly longer than the usual usage life. Will last kids at least 3-4 years which is an INSANE deal at this price. I have 4 laptops of the older gen 3050 with intel 13th gen from 2023. I paid about $530 for each of them from best buy. They all had 8gb and I added another 8gb. My kids are loving them still and they have no issues whether they are playing roblox, fortnight, Cyberpunk, helldivers, diablo, etc. For <$600 with ram upgrade these are the top tier value buy and laptops used to suck here in the bell curve of becoming obsolete so soon and not justifying the price, but DLSS is changing the game.

TL;DR: If you aren't outputting to a 4k ultra wide, upgrade the ram and turn on DLSS and these will last years making them the best value play

I bought one of these as a surprise to upgrade my son's throw-away HP Pavilion i3 laptop (BF deal 2-3 yrs ago). Despite having a weaker Ryzen, the rest if the specs are more than adequate. As mentioned, the 4050 is well suited here and the included panel is 100% srgb, 144hz, and supports Gsync. The other point about the RAM, you want to upgrade it to min 2 x 8GB just for dual-channel as it ships with a single 12 GB stick. Build quality is impressive for a plastic chassis, superior to anything you will get from Asus/MSI in this price range. The bottom is metal, top/lid is plastic. Keyboard is solid and backlighting is bright. Snagged one open box for $520, waiting on 16 GB dual channel kit. I think this will be a worthy upgrade for his Fortnite, Minecraft needs.
