BUT best price was $515 on prime day (summer 2025) with 10% back on Prime CC. Approximately $463.
As far as I know failure rates don't scale with TB on NVME so any particular 8TB drive is as liable to go belly up as any SATA drive. If you're talking about striping or something RAID isn't what it used to be and its much better practice these days to backup to a SATA drive and have your production data on an NVME rather than raiding everything from the production end down.
Not that it matters, it's an apples to oranges comparison - yeah, a SATA drive is like putting your data in a a truck - takes days to reach the it's destination. NVME costs more to haul, but it'll fly you there in hours, not days.

8TB's is a lot of data to lose. Unless you must have a drive that big, and an NVME, a couple of smaller SATA drives reduces loss risk.
