It was, but they just announced a new version, that is on pre-order, to be released next month. Great device. I plan to trade in my old Echo Show 10 ($45) plus 20% off, so I would pay $35 + tax out of pocket to upgrade. Screen size isn't a big deal, so I'd rather have better audio.
Because of their "sponsered ads", you can not remove them, and to stop it and tell it you don't want that product, it will send you another product, and another one, ... you have to go up to echo show device and swipe it away, ... and do it again, and again! With ADS!
Maybe look at most current reviews of these devices, and the 1 star reviews. ADS ADS ADS.
Amazon says these are their device, and can put on it anything they want.
I own 3 echo show 8's and 5 echo show 5's... and I use to love amazon, but , a number of people on youtube have packed up their echo shows, it gets so bad. It you chat with amazon reps, they will gave suggestions, but if you ask them point blank: "can you remove sponsered ads, they will say NO, you can't remove them. Pass it on. I'm hopeing for a class action lawsuit on this. I had been a echo show lover for years, but it keeps get worse and worse.
I guess buy one if you want, just go into it with your eyes wide open.
