I'm curious too. There's one where you can write on it but seems so pricey

Kindle is great, best thing about it is that it is only a reader so you're not tempted to be distracted with other functions and can just read - books are cheap/free, screen is really easy on the eyes - battery lasts forever and you can replace it yourself if ever need be. Older models are almost identical and go on sale for under $50

I bought the 11th gen (last model) for $90. Uses from Woot.
This is an event greater deal. Comparing it to my then top of the line Oasis, I was shocked how much faster even the screen loads between page flips. And so much lighter. I really like this.

It says " screen blemishes ", so that's making me worry as the screen is the main thing for a reader. What blimishes could it mean?

I can only speak to what I got. But mine didn't even have scuffs on the back. Screen was pristine.I've never had an issue with Woot, and I hope you have good luck as well. could always return it if not happy...

If you don't miss the nostalgic aspect of a paper book, Kindle is amazing. I love being able to carry literally thousands of books wherever I go. I can read in the sun, in the dark, increase the font size -- not to mention take advantage of online libraries via Libby that make checking out books so simple. Kindle might not be for everybody, but I'm a huge fan.

Seems like a good deal especially since I think they are new but just a slight blemish (so battery is new and you put a cover on anyway). But Prime Day starts tomorrow 10/7. Won't these go on a pretty good sale? Last year was $125 I think, and if you have an old one you can get 20% off on top of that which you can't do with Woot. So it would come out to $100 also but a one year warranty and no blemishes. I'll go that route if it happens.

Good catch - the Kindle Paperwhite 16GB is now $125 at Amazon, and you can get an additional 20% off if you trade in a device. If you plan to get a Paperwhite, and you have something to trade in, I'd suggest buying directly from Amazon.

Also, be advised that the 16GB comes w/ ads. From my personal experience, Amazon used to take the ads off for free, but they stopped doing that a few years ago.

So if you want an ad-free experience, you have a few options: (1) pay an additional $20 post-sale, (2) buy the ad-free version for $116 after trade-in (sale price of $145, less 20%, or $29), or (3) buy the signature edition for $120 after trade-in (sale price of $150, less 20%, or $30).

From what I understand, the Signature Edition has 32gb, wireless charging, and auto-adjusting front light.

Amazon has this 'new' with 3 months of Kindle Unlimited for $124.99. I think that's a better deal, especially if you're looking to try their Kindle Unlimited Library (valued at $11.99 per month).

And if you trade in anything, even like an old FireStick, they'll give 20% off plus $5 for the Stick.

(Amazon is offering only $30 for my 11th gen Paperwhite though)

If you have a Prime Visa they're doing 10% CB. I believe Amex has an offer too.
