From what I have seen in using it, this is not like a Groupon, more like a Paypal for restaurants. It's a payment method, so any deals you use (like the $25 off $50 coupon) isn't actually "seen" by the restaurants, it's just in the details of how you are paying your bill. Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks. Reloaded even though there aren't many inKind restaurants nearby, the deal stacking is too good.

Is this basically like a groupon? Do restaurants frown upon using this deal?

I've used it once and seemed to not be an issue. Others can chime in with their own experiences

It's not like Groupon at all. From a restaurant's perspective, Groupon is just a coupon with marketing tied to it. Restaurants would prefer people didn't use the Groupon so they don't have to give a discount.

InKind, on the other hand, will only finance restaurants that they think they can get customers to use their InKind credit at. So the restaurant wants people to use InKind credit at their restaurants otherwise they won't get any additional financing from InKind.Financing through InKind is cheaper than a traditional loan because there's no interest and there's no required payment plan. If no one uses the credits, InKind loses.... and in turn so can the restaurant if it needs further financing.

Groupon - Marketing & Coupon Service
InKind - Quasi-loan-bank & Marketing
