In the early days of COVID I got a TP-Link range extender and saw unusual requests on my main router. You can search online and see people posting to their support forums reporting the similar issues and not getting any real response, FYI

Best bet is this: https://www.amazon.com/GL-iNet-GL...160&sr=8-3
It is built more for a router VPN but don't upgrade past 4.7.7 firmware cause it's kind of buggy after that.

My local Costco a few months ago had them for $299. Only needed one to be the main Deco for channel selection so I didn't pick them up.

I just bought this same 3 pack BE11000 on FB market place for 260, new and sealed. Covered our 3000 sqft 2 levels house nicely and stable. However, MLO network needs improvement.

Not sure how to interpret this comment. What are "unusual requests"? How did you detect the "unusual requests"?

if it was truly a national security threat they would have clamped down long ago.

The US Gov't is apparently investigating too, for over a year or so. Wouldn't something have been reported by now if anything malicious had been found?

I remember from years ago when people discovered root kits on TP-Link switches. I also tested their base model WiFi 7 router ($200 at the time) a few months ago and the throughput performance was terrible. Now I see comments about "unusual requests" from an extender. Maybe it's my bias but I'll just continue to stay away from this manufacturer...
