$140 CPU
$100 Motherboard
$50 RAM
$50 SSD
$100 Case +PSU
$300 5060

$740 total

I think this is a fair deal. You could build better with this budget, or get similar performance much cheaper used.

Edit: Looking around, you can knock $40 off the parts total. Some cheap H610 boards out there and its only 512GB. Middling deal might be more appropriate.

It seems only okay, especially after those Acer Nitro deals. For the money I would like to see either 32gb ram, 1tb HD or even both.

For reference the Acer Nitro was $999 with i7 14700F, 32gb, 2TB SSD AND A 5060 ti 16GB. A ton more computer for only $200 more.

Can we replace worstbuy with microcenter already? I'm fatigued by constantly seeing all these good deals only at microcenter in store only.

About a week ago, I regret not buying one but felt it was a bit far out to buy for a Christmas present especially if you open it and its DOA, no way to return. Hopefully there will be something similar closer to BF.

The only small things I see missing from the list are cooling & OS but agree, this is still a fair deal. Personally I would wait for BF to see if there are any similar config with 1TB SSD and better looking case

I am holding out for BF in this case. Maybe more Acer Nitro deals will pop.

Or try FlyBy11 / Flyoobe if you're feeling dangerous

Running my i7-3770S from 2013 on Win 11. Runs like a champ. Microsoft may close the "hack" that allows the Win11 install. I'll run this until they do.

The Alienware deal from a week or so ago is much better than this. This is bottom of the barrel "gaming" machine

You're doing the thing where you compare the cost of parts against the sum of the parts which is apples to oranges.
What a simple cost of parts doesn't take into account are the build process and the support from a manufacturer.
I don't understand the auto-go to of assuming everyone likes to buy a pile of parts from 3 or 4 different places only to have to build/put it together/troubleshoot/find drivers and then at the end of it have no support other than (yourself.)
