Sign into the Staples app on your phone. Click on "Easy Rewards" button at the bottom of the screen. Under the top banner, click the right tab labeled "Store coupons". Scroll through the listing and "Clip" the coupon for the Apple iPad for $279.
When checking out in-store, show this coupon to the cashier to receive the $279 price.
Edit: Per HonestRoom774, it may be possible to online order for store pickup at the $279 price (instead of initially going to the store to get the in-store price of $279).

update: they cancelled my order saying it was sold out.
