I want to get a new laptop for my folks. Just simple browsing, office programs, and streaming. Is this good?

Am I better off waiting for black friday?

Thanks in advance.

Per C.S. chat... Memory is NOT soldered. There are two memory slots, each having 8GB.

Hard pass for me. Linux friendliness is questionable because of this: Wireless Realtek Wi-Fi 6 RTL8852BE, 2x2, 802.11ax, MU-MIMO, Bluetooth® wireless card

I got this exact model during Labor Day and had to return it because the touchpad was strangely unresponsive, a good half-second delay between touch and the action on screen, which was way too janky for me.

Time to retire my 2018 laptop but not sure I need all this for just browsing the internet and watching espn and youtube tv at the same time. I do need more memory though. Oh not a touchscreen. Talked myself out of it.

This Dell has one USB C and two USB A which is better than this Lenovo below...

https://slickdeals.net/f/18623311-lenovo-ideapad-slim-3i-15-3-touchscreen-laptop-intel-core-5-210h-wuxga-1920-x-1200-windows-11-499-99-15-shipping?attrsrc=Thread%3AExpired%3AFalse%7CSearch%3AType%3Anormal%7CSearch%3ASort%3Anewest%7CSearch%3AHideExpired%3AFalse&src=SiteSearchV2Algo

But the Lenovo has faster RAM memory.

Bought the exact same model 3 months ago for below $400.
And for the touch pad issue, mine totally stop working, a quick google search show a hard reset and it fix the problem(hold down the power button until shut down and restart with the dell logo showing, then release the power button)

Yes, just add one more 16gb DDR4 SODIMM stick
According to dell 32Gb it's max limit, but not sure if it's true

16gb is enough for that.

Why not USB-C for power instead of separate power barrel port?

Above is dealbraker for me. Though you can get a USBc to dell barrel converter, still an annoyance.
