Is the 42" and 48" model still significantly neutered on light output like year's past? Why are they still doing that now that they're producing so many monitor sized displays with much better light output?

It's a pretty solid deal if you are looking for this model. It is unlikely that it will ever get much below $750-$800, even next year on clearance.
