I activated mine and it started a separate subscription.

Now I have a sub expiring 12/5/25 and another 10/6/26. So I have a 2 month overlap

I followed the instructions in the email from Newegg, I am not sure if there was another way that I should have done this.

I recall discussion of these no longer being stackable inside your Adobe account for multiple years. Was that real?

Wondering the same and also, maybe buy now and not activate it until my subscription runs out?

How soon do you need to redeem/activate this after purchasing it? My subscription renews in May and I would ideally like to hold off on redeeming it until then.

If you complain to Adobe they will cancel the new subscription and give you a replacement activation code. They gave me some BS line about it being a monthly plan vs an annual plan (it's not) but as far as I can tell the real reason the subscription doesn't extend is that they reduced the features in the new subscription to include fewer software packages and fewer AI credits.

They said they would adjust it; ended up cancelling my original plan outright and removing it from my account. They said my sub would update, but that has not happened. I wouldn't count on getting any meaningful help from support.

Is there any difference between these 2 other than one includes Photoshop? I mostly use LR so would like to get the LR plan if all else is the same?

Earlier this year I didn't redeem a code for 6 months after purchasing and had no problems redeeming when my subscription expired.

There was some discussion of the stacking and why some plans do and others don't in a previous deal thread: https://slickdeals.net/f/18562069-12-month-adobe-creative-cloud-photography-subscription-plan-w-1tb-cloud-digital-download-94-99-ac-via-newegg?sort=oldest&page=1

I just want people to know that I got this last year at the same price, so if your worried about a year from now it becomes this price regularly and at the very least at black friday.
I doubt they "stack" so I would recommend re-buying it on a holiday sale near the end of the subscription year and simply save the code until the time is right.

Basically, Adobe changed the product SKU this year (i.e., reduced the provided features). The only way you can "continue" on the new version is to just wait till the last day your current subscription ends.

If you bought a key and added it to your account already, and you noticed a second "copy" of the product (they aren't exactly the same), then you can contact support to get the new version removed and a new key. However, that new key will still register as the new version. You must wait till your original subscription runs out and then redeem the replacement key.

These new keys might stack right now (say you buy two), but there's no guarantee of stacking in the future. Just because you buy the same SKU from Newegg doesn't mean it's the same SKU at Adobe.

Careful.
Adobe doesn't consider the photography plan w/ 1TB and the photography plan w/ 20GB to be the same.
If you try to add a code for one to extend the other, you get two plans running concurrent.
