Quote from cupcake2026 :
It's actually the internal part that wears out. I don't know how common it is, I guess common enough that it happened to me and other people on the internet.

It wasn't a sudden failure or anything, obviously it's from being used, but it still makes me hesitant 🤷 ♀️

FWIW depending on the model you dealt with previously, this one has the power out the back which for MOST use cases reduces wear dramatically on the power port because when the cord gets pulled it pulls out instead of pulling sideways and the like. Also less likely to bind the chord against like chair arms and stuff.

my legion pro 5 was nothing but headaches with BSOD and mobo replacements. After warranty with home repairs and service ran out; the laptop just died on me. I know others had it good but myself and my brother had nothing but issues with these laptops. look on youtube/reddit - im not alone with these problems. Cant recommend this product line at all.

FWIW I've had fan and reboot issues with my Legion 5 since the last few Lenovo BIOS updates. Seems to be a known issue with their BIOS updates.

Look into it before you jump on a Legion.
