Go to Apple Refurbished - same as buying new - you can buy AppleCare+ as well

They have a similar model but M4 Pro not Max with 48Gb 1TB for $2450 right now

Never EVER buy anything refurbished unless it's directly from Apple

A few weeks ago or so I got my 16" M3 Max from the same seller. It had 9 cycles on the battery and was in perfect condition. Many people were lucky enough to still have a (Apple) warranty, but whoever had mine originally must've used it in Nov 2023 and barely afterwards.
I'd say the M4 still being under warranty is much more likely than the M3. If what the other people said is true (this is my first Apple product ever), then the AppleCare+ option should still be available, too.

Just subscribe to Apple Care one, 3 devices on Apple Care included, $5.99 additional. Typically, just needs to be under 4 years old. May need to bring it in to store to get it checked, but I've added a like 6 devices and it allowed all of them without checks. If it's an M3, than that's going to be less than 4 years old.

What charger did you get? The listing says it's a "generic" and the seller wouldn't specify. Thanks

Wow... I've got a 16" m1 max like a couple weeks ago with $1130 but I feel like I had to save that money for this one...

Thanks for this. I've been eyeing the 16" M3 pro for a while now and have watched multiple sell out. This M4 for $300 more than the M3 pro is a no brainer.

For what it's worth, these things are incredibly dependable and have very low failure rates. Allstate warranties on ebay are generally 'full refund if it fails in the warranty period'... so, if it's fine in that first year, it's probably going to be good for 5+ years.

...but yeah, it's still quite a bit to spend. I'm keeping my 64GB M1 Max for at least another gen or two (possibly more - we'll see what happens with the new gens). I still have Applecare+ on mine mostly in case of accidental damage, because damage can be very expensive to fix.

Why? The come with one year warranty, you can get an extra year when you pay with a credit card (AMEX). How is apple refurbished any different?

Also, some retailers advertised model as refurbished to get a one year warranty through ebay. The actual laptops are either open box or used.

is there anything special about the 'eBay Refurbished' label over other refurbished ones?
