For what it's worth, Walmart has their "Expert Grill Stainless Steel Barbecue Skewers, 4-Pack, 13.5-inch" for $2.17 for a 4 pack. I have a couple of these sets that I use on the grill or in the oven...I sharpened the ends so they pierce through my chicken easily when threading it onto the kebabs. Probably one of the best deals you'll find...you can buy the cheap throw away bamboo ones...100 for .99 cents...easy solution and easy clean up if camping or something like that.
What would you use to keep the heat in? There's no lid.
That actually hardly matters for most things on the grill, closing the lid is more for fire control or for longevity of cooking so you can make your fires last longer, required for smoking...but for straight grilling nah. It's like cooking in a frying pan, just turn your items over and you'll be fine.
Good thing they didn't forget to pack their own grill, they would have been completely unable to find another way to cook their food....
....someone please bring back darwinism.
Those public use grills are filthy. Homeless people do all sorts of nasty stuff on them.
😂🤣 Sounds like something Fox "News" would say
Just be glad you've never found an overcooked hot dog on one of them. (It wasn't a hot dog)

"Homeless people?" Just and specifically those mean old "homeless people?" Wow.....
Make believe nonsense about people eating cats and dogs, doing "nasty stuff" on grills, pizza shop human trafficking rings, chupacabras etc....If only you could somehow disinfect that grill with....heat. If there was some magic way to heat that grill to above 171 deg, preferably with fire....you'd be okay. Can you think of a method to accomplish that with a charcoal grill? Sadly I cannot.....I'm probably dumb like a "homeless person" so what do I know.
