People are using this as a commuter bike - where most cities ban anything faster than 20mph.

Are these any good off road in the mountains? Curious if anyone here has taken one on a jeep trail.

this is one of my bikes. a very nice bike and tops out at 50mph. was a very popular bike last year and went for $2000. it's probably one of the best buys for 40-50mph bikes.
and if you're hellbent from going over 20mph, just set your speed mode down. It has multiple speed settings. sometimes i'll lock it in at a lower speed so that i don't accidentally leave my kids in the dust (their bikes can only do 20mph).

It's a hub motor so that will not be ideal for off-road and other dirt bike activities.

I've had one for about 7 months now.

A great looking EB. Fast enough for me (ex sport bike race/track day)

Pedals are key for this not be mis-classified

No wheelies or mis-use. Plenty of sand riding and it does well.

I hate these in the LA bike lanes near me. They're this style so the bike lane will be clear and then suddenly there's someone there.

Illegal to ride on roads sidewalks bike lanes etc in all but one or two states and illegal to ride any place other than your property in almost every state. One day it would be nice if they get regulations worked out. Children riding these bikes and faster get killed and politicians restrict ebikes more and more. Children and adults riding these electric off-road only dirt bikes cause accidents from people trying to avoid and have zero consequences. These need to be treated as somone who is riding a 100-150cc gas no name imported dirt bike that has no build quality restrictions because that's what they are.

And must be less than 750w or 750w or less, depending on state, must max 20mph with throttle or, no throttle and cut off assist at 28mph. Many states Must also specifically not be modified so you can not change from say a class 3 to unrestricted and then back again.

They are not allowed to be ridden these places In almost all states unless it's your personal property and the yes if you not worried about running out of battery then they are around as capable as the biggest Honda trail motorcycles like 90 cc plus. Build quality though can be spotty. Like would you be really comfortable with riding a $200 mongoose or random low end dual suspension where most people would not ride less than a $4000-$12000 bike with top end frame and shocks?
