Yes, it can be added afterwards. This one is made specifically to be used without a controller and it does great without one. You can also use it with your phone to control it up to something like 100 ft. When you add the RC1 controller it adds support up to 1000ft. You do not need the controller at all for this one. The controller is a nice addition though. I would get the additional batteries over the controller because each one only gets you like 15 minutes of flight time, which is very limited.

anyone have this without the remote and have any issues using without controller?
I kind of like the freedom of that option but wonder if I will find features missing.

worth the $120 extra to get the fly-more combo?
Can a controller be added after sale?

Getting this as a gift for a teenager; I see the option with 3 batteries total for $229- this seems like a solid deal with 2 extra batteries for $70 more than drone alone.
Curious if $60/battery is the normal going price for batteries if I were to buy after the fact, any insight on this?

Great deal. Not familiar with the seller though.
I use this with fpv controller and goggles and it's a blast. So fun
May I know where to find fpv controller and goggles? Just want to use the same if possible. thanks
I'm missing something. It says the range is 10km for this drone which seems really far for it's price. But it doesn't come with a controller and the range is 100 feet with a phone or 1000 feet with a separate controller?

That's average price for batteries. There aren't much third party batteries and even if you find them, you aren't saving much. If you think you will be flying for more than 15 minutes, then the combo with the extra battery is worth it. You do have to land and swap batteries before flying again. The controller (phone or RC1) does run on battery as well. After your second drone battery, you may need to charge your controller.
