dang. this is solid. had the Intel, OLED, 2tb version from BestBuy that I got open box for $1850.

Solid laptop especially new for $1800. Laptop feels high quality.

I ended up returning it though for a legion pro 7 with the same specs.

keyboard looks great but keys are a little squished together for my liking, track pad felt meh, and the cooling system while pretty beefy does still struggle to tame the 275hx even with max fans on. (not a deal breaker in normal gaming it's still a beast)

the legion is quieter, cools the CPU better, and the keyboard and track pad feels better.

I'd hop on this if I didn't already get the legion

I did the exact same as you. swapped for legion pro 7i with 275hx and 5080. the cooling on the legion is unrivaled

I have the Intel version of this. Apparently at least on the Intel version the CPU paste is a bit of a lottery. I've read of people getting much better cooling after repasting the CPU so maybe these AMDs are similar.I haven't done it yet personally to mine I'm waiting for the year warranty to be up before I do.

I don't personally have any problems with the keyboard size. And the track pad is better than my previous Asus Strix, although doesn't seem anything special. I read people complaining about those two things but I didn't feel the same when I got mine... I probably just never had a laptop with an exceptional track pad to see the difference, but it's serviceable to me.

I repasted with thermal grizzly phasesheet. the stock paste job looked terrible with some LM running off the CPU.temps stabilized more but would still hit the upper limits or at least close to it for the CPU. I still highly recommend this laptop though

I rarely use a trackpad preferring a mouse in all situations, but my older Legion 5 pro from a few gens back has the first trackpad that I don't DESPISE using, I definitely can see why some people care, the difference between it and every prior one I had used is pretty big and I don't think it's considered a particularly great trackpad.

I do love the Legion keyboards though.

Went to see it in person at Microcenter , build quality is good , screen was the deciding factor to not purchase it. It's nice but the OLED on the Legion is significantly nicer in comparison.
