To answer the question above about battery life, it's probably a YMMV based on your usage and the reconditioned state. According to Garmin's website, the 47mm has battery life of up to 16 days and 6 days of always on. For the person who said 28-30 days, I have no idea how you can squeeze that out of the 47mm. The 51mm spec says up to 31 days, so maybe that have that size (bigger watch has bigger battery).
For me, I charge it every 6-7 days. Golf season around me is winding down, and 1 round of golf uses about 30% of the battery (gps, club tracking, me looking at the watch for yardage and other stuff). I run/walk 4-5 days per week at around 30-45 minutes on average. Lately, i haven't golfed, so that running/walking tracking with GPS is giving me that roughly 6 days. I think it's find though, considering all the tracking it's doing
For those who are interested in the golf feature, I think it's great! I had an older S62 (previously the S1? one of the original basic garmin golf watch). This looks better than the S62 having the AMOLED instead of MIPS. It also has all the same features I would use, like club tracking and that, but I think it's way better overall. I cannot imagine what the latest dedicated golf watches could provide that this can't. Unless you'd like to spend more time looking at your watch screen and less time golfing? I think maybe the newer fenix, or dedicated golf watch might have the green slopes. That might be a paid feature though, I'm not sure.
And if people want to debate MIPS vs AMOLED. For me, I really wanted that bright, popping resolution with AMOLED. I was really disappointed with my S62 having the MIPS. I think I saw somewhere that it literally only has like 64 colors. I think I saw Fenix 7 might have 256. IMO, it "looks bad" with that colors, but also, the technology allows a MUCH BETTER battery life. People say it works better in the sun, but I have had ZERO issues with the AMOLED in sun. Still very easy to see. But, a MIPS screen would probably give a few more days of battery life.
Overall, this is a very good price for a very good watch. I don't know if it's actively supported as it's been out a while, but any watch you buy will eventually be phased out of the update schedule. I did buy a used Forerunner 165 for the GF and the screen looks a little bit better aesthetically, so you get that with newer watches also. I couldn't justify buying a Fenix 8 over this as the Epix does everything I'd personally want it to do.
