Ha, figures it's been just a few months and this is cheaper than the people got it that took a risk and pre-ordered at a discount.

I do like this setup, but it is not without flaws.

What flaws does it have? I'm looking for a setup

are these sensors like 28 fps or whatever it is like all the eufy cameras?

EDIT: it appears the $599 e41 model has sensors that only do 15/20 FPS which is laughable, the $1k version is probably the same or similar.

Yes. Be aware that that the included hard drive is 2tb. I upgraded mine. I am very happy with this system. It is much better than my old Hikvision POE NVR.

The lack of web interface is a deal breaker. Everything else seems okay as a limitation to me. Too bad, it's limited by local software, because otherwise the camera hardware seems excellent.

Edit: is Reddit accurate? The website says it is supported: https://www.eufy.com/blogs/securi...perplexity

Buy good cameras, run milestone software on a home server and be without restrictions.

How would those issues be any different with another wired/POE system?

Very helpful review. I'm sticking with my traditional NVR and cameras until Eufy implements many of the request features you have highlighted in your Reddit post.

In this case, you probably mean am I accurate?
You be the judge.

Right now my NVR is at 192.168.1.22 this is a Static Lease I have assigned from my firewall as I do with all my IOT devices to keep broadcast domains small and to segment the network for security.

I can get on another computer on the same Layer 2 Subnet and can reach any device on that network fine, except the NVR. I can't even get a ICMP reply from the NVR. (Start with Layer 2, as to avoid having Layer 3 issues while your figuring out the fault domain)

This is not 100% indicative of a network connection issues as some devices by design can have ICMP turned off as a security feature (though never seen it done as a default, and that is much more an enterprise thing to do not a home consumer)

So we can try to go directly to that IP on a web interface and try the common port 80 for HPPT or port 443 for HTTPS, and we can even manually try some other common ports that are not standard like Port 8080
In all cases there is no activity, not even a response from the server.

As this is a consumer product this doesn't line up, it would just work if it was intended too.
So I think the flaw is in the documentation, either its not accurate or was meant for a different device than this one all together.

This is further qualified by the fact as you look thru what you linked they use ambiguous terms like "web or app access" and yet only show the app access not once do they show any web access being achieved.

I have 20 years of Enterprise IT experience having previously held roles such as a Network Engineer, so I am pretty comfortable in my knowledge with this stuff.

Which POE cameras do you recommend? I had a Hikvision die on me recently and I can't get one to replace it. I'm aware of the issues with that brand but I'm cheap and don't feel like replacing the other two working ones I have especially since they're just pointed out at the street. For inside the house I've got a couple of C120's hooked up to XProtect.
