In my personal experience, the Red Pro drives are slightly more quiet.

Glad I have plenty of hard drives currently. There were alot more HD deals int h past around prime days. Maybe Christmas will bring some better prices. I remember when 512 megs was a huge hard drive!

Are these meant for Enterprise use only because the price seems to be very high for a home nas?

Five years ago, a WD Red 10 TB cost me $230.
All new HDDs. Not shucked, pre-owned or refurbs. Retail / brown box packaging.
Are these really going to last that much longer than the 24TB Seagate on Newegg for $244.99?
