Every discussion I've read about these everyone greatly prefers the controller with the built in screen but those versions never go on as steep of a sale as the ones that make you pair your phone with the drone. For most people this is probably fine, but after having been burned on a lot of smart devices that required specific apps that no longer exist I don't want to buy any more tech toys that require me to pair them with phones using software that may become outdated .
