Then that was a price mistake. I buy this size of various brands regularly and they were all >$12 for the last 3 years.

How does this compare to Crema e Gusto aside from the fact that it's not preground? I would be using it in a Delonghi machine.

$14 for 24 oz is not bad, but the Lavazza at Publix is not the same variety as this. This is over 2 lbs, and at our Publix it is all pre ground and not something I would use in our espresso machine. Even at the warehouse clubs that sell it, it's just the basic one.

I hear ya, my local Publix has the whole bean, but just the regular medium roast. I was not trying to hijack the thread, but - I have an espresso machine, and I am not real good at it, but decent. So, although I have been able to make good coffee with almost anything in this machine, I have found my favorite, by far. Gevalia Costa Rican coffee. Holy hell it's so smooth and no acidy taste at all. My only issue is that I haven't found anywhere that has it in whole bean, so I have been just putting it in my machine already ground, and grinding it more. It's messy, but the coffee is amazing to me and I have been on a hunt to find some whole beans locally.

just say no to crema y aroma. literally their bottom of the barrel. get at least the espresso italiano, or better super crema, or best gran crema.

and yes, this is barely worth the $7 I paid for it

here, even at $16 this is better: https://a.co/d/3YVxMJ4

Thanks for this. Gran cream is one of the better ones I've tried for my superauto, and at $17 for 2lbs it's a good deal

While I don't think this flavor is even close to as bad as some people make it out to be (and believe I actually liked it, IIRC), it certainly wouldn't crack my top 3 Lavazza beans list, altho I do remember thinking something was different, or even off about it (maybe it was weak and light? but can't recall exactly).

I def agree with your recommendations. The only change I'd make is putting Super Crema at the top. Then, I'd prolly put their regular Espresso (which I believe to be the espresso Italiano you mentioned) ahead of Gran Crema at 2nd, as I consider it to be more universally liked and thus a 'safer' pick. While I haven't had Gran Crema in a couple of years, I believe it had a more bold taste and profile, at least in comparison. Wanted to try the Crema e Gusto for literally years and finally got to this past year. They are without a doubt not only the worst Lavazza roast, BY FAR, but some of (if not) the worst beans I've personally brewed in my life...

Then again, FWIW I'm certainly no coffee connoisseur, nor am I some hipster who turns their nose up to Starbucks and only drinks Blue Bottle coffee either, so YMMV.
Dunno how people drink Peet's; that is definitely some burnt ass coffee (at least their dark roasts, which comprise of like 90% of their beans).
