I've been using this litter for at least 14 years now. It has become insanely dusty. It was already dusty before, but now it's going all over the room.
As much as I love this litter, there is no way I am allowing this much dust with the potential of toxoplasmosis on counters, refrigerators sinks etc. Sorry Dr Elsey, it's time for us to part ways.
Finding an alternative is going to be a pain in the a**

Fully agreed. This was the best litter for the money, what a shame. Do let us know when you've found a good alternative.

^Facts. My whole living room is covered in dust using this with a Litter Robot, so I'll be switching to something else soon. Heard good things about Boxie Probiotic Cat Litter (at least for use in the litter robot), but it's too expensive. When I had my old school style litter box I just bought 40lb bags of Horse Bedding Pellets from Tractor Supply for $6 which worked fine if you're trying to save some $$$

I tried the pine pellets from TS. The price of course is fantastic. The three male cats didn't mind, but our female wouldn't use it. I tried slow integration and she ended up peeing outside the box on the tile. I even used the Dr Elsey litter attractant. No go. We have six litter boxes. They will all use the Naturally Fresh walnut litter quick clumping formula in the green bag. It's no where near as hard clumping, but it gets the job done. But it does have a slight dust. The red bag of it sucks for clumping. But might work fine in your litter robot. There are a few more I've seen on TikTok I might try out.I agree. Some of these litter manufacturers think their litter must be gold dust, with the prices, they want.

On a side note. If anyone is looking for a cat litter pail, I switched over to Ubbi Pet Waste Pail.
Best I've used of all those styles. I have tested how much I can pack in the bags and have yet to find a point they split. The most I've had in for weight so far is 34 lbs. You can use a trash bag in them or Walmart bags etc. But their bag is insanely tough. It's expensive, but is worth it to me. I also suggest putting a trash bag in first over the edges so no litter goes past their bag into the bottom of the pail.

The Dr. Elsey's in the purple bag doesn't have any dust at all. Try that one.
