I always assumed the ROI on dishwasher detergent products must be significant. Especially with how easy they can repackage products and make em look like something fancy. Years ago someone probably thought: hey lets add some color to the tabs. Oh but wait how about we add a drop of liquid detergent and put it in a dissolving wrapper, they ll think it must be magical. Hmmm..they got use to all that, lets add add more compartments, all with different colors.

this was reviewed by Wirecutter as good for streak free glass but otherwise not as powerful
