Not great scores on rtings, especially the black levels but can't expect top of the line at this price. 3 yr warranty included is a plus

Then you have bad taste in picture quality. Rtings is the gold standard for TV reviews. None of that stuff is useless criteria. You should look at a good TV sometime, and see how your TV looks after that.
it WAS, not anymore. you need to actually go to bestbuy and check the tv out and stop trolling

For one thing, rtings has a much tougher revised benchmark so it makes it hard to compare this to a TV from just a couple years.

As others have said, the rtings review is for the IPS panel version of this TV not the VA. And rtings IMO overly punishes IPS panels in their scoring system, but that can be subjective.

Since it's available for some people at $500, that's my maximum price now. Convincing my wife to swap out a 75" TCL is the next hurdle.

Always recommend hisense for price/quality, great value. However, 3 of the 4 people I recommended Hisense to (plus myself), had dark spots after 2-3 years and tossed the tvs (h8, u6 and u8 models).Do yourself a favor and go with TCL if you are on a budget.
Every tv brand has issues. I have 6 different models in my house and have 3 I purchased at my girls house and have recommended them to 5 different people over the last 6 years and haven't had an issue. My brothers Samsung frame had issues after a year and his lg g whatever Oled. That didnt stop me from getting the same oled for my main
None of mine have (except 1). All 4k from 2018 BF (the 65" was from 2019).
3 Insignia Fire TVs (1-65; 2-55)
2 Toshiba Fire TVs (43"): 1 had a bad power supply that was replaced under warranty; it now has a dead pixel.
1 HiSense (46").

Out of all of them, the HiSense has the best picture quality. Darks seem darker.

Given my experience, I see no need to buy Sony, Samsung, or LG.
These are all disposable in 10-15* years anyways based on meh build and new features. I'm just waiting on an affordable 144Hz or better 75-85". This price is getting there. *Do people even keep TVs more than 5-10 years anymore?

Has Hisense fixed their OS issues?
Have an U7G and it will crash for the first few minutes until it "warms" up and then I can start watching tv...

They had a tech come out to replace the mainboard during warranty but the problem comes back.

Will recommend to avoid them bc they don't care.

Okay. Old man rant (again).
Insane value from a cost per square inch perspective.
Expect either the AV board or PCU to die. Hisense is common enough that you can source one. Or, you can play the warranty and possibly credit card extended warranty play.
"THIS DOESN'T LOOK LIKE A $3800 OLED!!!" - Brilliant observation, Sherlock. Congrats to you on having $3,800 to spend on a TV. Many don't, and this is a lot of (lower quality) TV for the price.
I seriously doubt it can run at 144Hz without ghosting. Google TV is nice, but you will need to reset it occasionally, which may require unplugging the TV. Wall mount is solid. Can guarantee without seeing it the audio is crap, but presuming it has some audio output (what TV doesn't?), that's a non issue. Solid inputs for gaming consoles.
Slick deal to me. Just know what you're getting into. And if you don't get a decent warranty or cannot replace an AV board or PSU, realize that you'll have a huge brick that will be a pain in the ass to dispose of.

I'm still rocking a 16 year old 720 Panasonic plasma. Want to finally upgrade, but after reading about the reliability of tv's nowadays, I'm still in no hurry to make the move.

Rtings rated this tv = 5.7 out of 10.

"The Hisense QD7 is inadequate for mixed usage. It looks very underwhelming in a dark room due to its terrible black levels. Additionally, HDR content is unimpressive since the TV isn't bright enough for a proper HDR viewing experience. The TV is bright enough to handle glare in a moderately lit room, but it doesn't have the reflection handling or brightness needed for a well-lit room. Fortunately, the TV has modern gaming features that make it a decent pairing with modern consoles if you care more about performance than image quality. Another positive is that the TV's viewing angle is good enough if you're viewing the screen from an angle."

Can anyone comment on the installation services quality for these TVs from Walmart? I previously had five TVs mounted and installed by Best Buy in the last few years and they were excellent, but it's $250 now to mount a TV from them . I am considering this to upgrade picture size and have it mounted, thoughts?
