is 9 better than 9a? im trying to get a new phone for my mom. we never use pixel phones before
rience with a durable Gorilla Glass back, thinner bezels, and faster wireless charging, along with superior camera hardware and faster wired charging. The Pixel 9a counters with a larger 5,100 mAh battery and a lower price, making it a great value choice for budget-conscious buyers, though it uses a less premium plastic back and slower charging. For most users, the Pixel 9 is a better buy if the price difference is small, but the 9a excels in battery life and affordability. That said, I went with the Pixel 9 specifically for the better modem and in hopes that fixes my atrocious Pixel 7 calling performance. Would have gone with the new Pixel 9a otherwise for the same price, but that's just me.

For my experience going from the 7 to the 9 Pro, the modem has been far superior. And the fingerprint scanner is also drastically better.

I went from a 6 Pro to the 9 Pro.
I wouldn't recommend it. Still not as practical as other available phones in the same price range.
The finger print reader is better but you can only save ONE finger print.
Also, the facial recognition unlock feature doesn't work in darker settings. Very weak compared to any iPhone 9,10,11,12,13, etc etc.
I have both Pixel 7 and Pixel 9, and I don't think there are significant performance boosts with Pixel 9 over 7. The only noticeable differences are battery life, 9 is newer and better.
