Great find. Bought the 4TB. One thing to note is that the discount will not show up in your cart at all. If you click the link about the prime discount it will say there is an error with the message below. But if you select checkout then it will be applied.

Something went wrong and this promotion isn't currently shoppable.

Yikes! After reading that article, I'm not buying any Extreme Pro SSD. Looks like it's not just the 4tb, the 2 and 3tb as well.

If you value your data at all especially for long term storage, do NOT get this line of drives. There is a reason it's always on fire sales everywhere including Amazon warehouse/resale. As TH reported, updated firmware does not do anything as the issue is in hardware / manufacturing defects. WD knows about it and deceptively started using epoxy on certain components but did not tell anyone and just marketed it as a firmware fix.

I have had several and one did fail on me. Just would not mount no matter what I tried. Fortunately I found the receipt and took it back to Costco (3 years after purchase) and they refunded it.
