What's the issue - pretty much every garage door keypad I've had has been battery powered (9V). Also, it appears there is a wired kit available for those with urgent concerns over battery powered.

I sorted the Amazon reviews by RECENT and skimmed through them. I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle and trouble even at this price.

uh... i didn't know the opening motor had to have myQ support, I thought it would just program like any other transmitter and give access with pin...

It is as you mentioned, this video keypad eats through battery because of the video recording and motion detection feature so better off when paired with a wired kit. That increases the actual cost of this unit to more like $50.

Changing the battery frequently also increases the chance of damaging the unit and the cover. It is also a nuisance to be doing it once a month. Better off to get the tried and true keypad only unit which is well reviewed.

I have 1 3/4hp 'smart' model (Chmberlain from a deal here earlier this year) and I do not use any of that myQ garbage and my opener is NOT on my network (not even enabled). I simply use the clickers that came with the unit - no app - no problem.
