Do these enhance tv watching experience or more so just another neat gimmicky thing?

Can't tell if I would get annoyed with it after the initial "oh wow that's cool" wears off.

I can't comment on the expensive ones that change color with what you're watching (this one doesn't do that either though), but I really like just having a warm white backlight behind the TV, less eye strain watching/enhances the picture of the TV IMO. I feel like the fancy ones with flashy colors might add strain.

Yesterday, the link for for the 55-65" TV worked, but now it leads to a strip for 70-80" TVs ($35), so I guess it sold out.

Other brands have similar options for less than Govee's sale price. Also, Vivitar has a light strip that syncs with the TV for $20.

@MX400ex72: I had a super cheap light strip from Temu on the back of my previous TV. I left it on solid blue all the time. A week ago, I replaced the TV, but I didn't trust the adhesive to keep working, so I left the strip on the old TV. I liked it, but I wasn't excited about it. However, my wife mentioned missing the light.

I use a different Govee light which is a light bar that syncs to the TV. I love it.

It's not as much for fun, but more the viewing experience. There is less eye strain when there's a suitable color in the background with what's playing on TV. You can adjust brightness. I don't really know why, but the soft lighting on the side really helps.

You might not notice much as it's working unless you focus on the lights. It's similar to how the walls or surfaces in front of the TV change in color from the ambient light of the TV. You don't notice it while watching, but know it's happening. This has the same effect, but on the wall behind your TV and around the borders. So it doesn't distract, sometimes makes things more immersive. Like if in a cartoon, a character was having a deep thought, so the screen is dark, then suddenly they get angry and the background is red, and your walls turn red with it, expanding the feeling.

That's why the well synced ones are well worth it.

I totally agree and would say the exact same thing if you didn't comment. Although more expensive, I highly recommend the light strip that syncs to the tv. Assembly is the same and just need to calibrate with the camera. Very straightforward setup. And it's more of a permanent setup for your tv viewing experience so you might as well upgrade

I thought perhaps the value is if you a Samsung Frame TV and display photos when not watching TV
