They show a soundbar on it, but I'd be a bit nervous having it balanced in the center like they show.

Not close to the same, but could be a functional alternative. I have these on TVs and computer monitors holding antennas, access points, potted plants, etc... It is surprisingly sturdy and I have no doubt it could support most modern soundbars

I have an Apple TV 4k and Onn. 4k Google TV box on it, but I had to put some double sided tape on the bottom of them to keep them from sliding off the glass shelf as my tv is tilted down a bit.
