Back on again for 4 days. Came back after the Prime Days ended. As mentioned on previous Nikon Refurb Sales, a great deal to upgrade your photo/video gear for about the same as a compact camera.

That has a 1 inch sensor, so not really comparable. A comparable Zve10-ii is significantly better for a more experienced user, it is also cheaper after 2-3 lenses. Zv-e10 is cheaper after 1-2 lenses.
looking for a basic camera to take on vacations. I usually go on 2 a year so wont be using much. Not into getting into the settings or changing anything. Will this be significantly better than using my iphone camera? $400 for a mirrorless camera sounds like a good deal
The z5ii and z50ii deals are better but sold out. The z30 has amazing build quality but is not a small camera, I still like the $700 Z5 deal more for one who has nikon lenses. The actual deal available for a serious user at the time of posting is the Z6iii at $1750, beating ebay sales by $200 and has warranty.

Yes, it is great for people like you. But even the best or easiest to use cameras aren't beating the latest phone cameras for one who doesn't learn and not buying 1 more lens. You are to pay for a 24mm for $230. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/pr..._24mm.html. That is $630 all together to beat a phone in most situations need not stabilization. For a traveler, expected to use it outdoors and in well-lighted place, I think in great majority of situations the camera can beat a phone.

For your use case, I think you are better off getting an iphone 17 pro or a high end android. Z30 is not a full frame, and it sounds you won't invest much on s-line lenses. With this setup , 95% the time you get better image out of iphone. For you context: I own z6ii and couple $1k+ lenses,

What a shame. If needed it cheap, You can beat an iphone 17 pro with an F2Z adapter, 35mm dx, 18-140 dx. That is $400 more and some entry level skill.
thanks! ordered the z30 with 2 lenses for $550. i was looking at the a6400, zv1, zv-e10. the zv-e10 is twice the price but i doubt it's $400 better.
Both lens are great considering its price point and with the 16/50 makes for a compact pocketable (jacket) camera. See if Nikon has a refurb 1.7 lens and you will be in great shape.

Get a Feiyu Tech Scorp mini 2 for under $200; great gimbal that was reduced with the intro of the Scorp 3.

The 18-140 is a sweet lens though it does make it lens heavy on a small body camera; especially with the FTZ 2 adapter in place.

"Not into getting into the settings or changing anything"
^hate to break it to you, but any camera is a "tool" that you have to learn how to use. simply putting it on any automatic modes doesn't mean that it's going to be the right mode for whatever setting you're taking photographs or videos.

A few things I really hate about iPhone's camera are:
the distortion especially near the corner or edge
The auto color or contrast adjustment after each shot and there's NO way to revert to the original color. This ruined many photos.
There seems no way to fix these two as long as you use iPhone. However, if one don't care about these, and you probably don't care too much about the image quality, and don't have the need to print large photos, iPhone is good enough for most people.
