How does it compare to the $550 Samsung app deal a month ago for their 34" oled + free 24"?
There are 3 very similar models. Which is best? How does it compare to the $550 Samsung app deal a month ago for their 34" oled + free 24"?
The Samsung one was terrible not much brightness and the hz wasn't going to the amount it was posting. Was a terrible experience to return it.
LG
- The 800R curve is too tight.
- It's a WOLED panel.
- 2-yr, 6-12 bright pixel, advanced replacement warranty.
Alienware
+ The shallower 1800R curve is great for gaming and still good for everything else; it doesn't distort your perspective too much or (often) cause motion sickness.
+ It's a Samsung QD-OLED panel, which has the best picture quality on a monitor today in terms of vibrant color reproduction, panel uniformity, etc.
+ 3-yr, zero bright pixel, advanced replacement warranty.
. I think it works fine. If you typically sit dead-straight in front of the screen, I would say it's a great experience; if you sit off-angle, I would tend to agree it's a very strange experience.
I'm not going to mistake this panel for an Apple Studio Display anytime soon; it's not that nice. That said, for photography/pictures, the imaging is good. I don't think I'd pay close to $560 for it, though; I would focus on a 4k (or 5k) screen first.
Everyone has different priorities...
I got mine free with an LG 77" OLED.

I prefer the Alienware QD-OLED.

QD-OLED being "the best picture quality" is highly subjective. I personally don't think purple-blacks make for the best picture quality.
WOLD means deeper blacks. What's the point of an OLED if not amazing contrast?
