This Metro Razr 2024 deal is mainly about a cheap foldable with a one year Metro lock and eSIM activation. The strongest upside is the price, with multiple orders going through around $65 or even $35 for a second line, and the phone can be used on Wi Fi or as a secondary device while waiting. Community testing also points to a possible unlock path on some Android 14 units, especially older November 2024 builds. The main catches are frequent stock and checkout failures, plus many reports that newer Android 15 or March 2025 units stay locked or hit server errors. A good fit if you are comfortable with the wait and the activation hassle.

Common Questions (6)

  • Some units accepted a T-Mobile SIM and worked immediately or for a few days, but many others showed a network-locked message or stopped working. The safest expectation is that it remains Metro-locked until the unlock process or the 1-year timer completes.

  • Sometimes, but only on certain software builds, mainly Android 14 units with older security patches. Many Android 15 or March 2025-update phones hit server errors or never show the permanent-unlock option, while older A14 builds were reported to unlock successfully.

  • Mint SIMs were reported not to work out of the box, and several T-Mobile SIMs also failed. A few specific SIMs from T-Mobile or other carriers did work for some users, but that behavior was inconsistent and not something to count on.

  • No port-in is required for this deal as posted, and several shoppers were able to order with a new number. The listing terms were later changed in the thread, so the requirement may vary by current checkout flow.

  • It is reported to auto-unlock about 365 days after activation. Do not erase the eSIM before the unlock completes; after it unlocks, you can confirm in settings and then remove the eSIM if you want.

  • No ongoing commitment beyond the first month was reported. The service is prepaid, so if you do not pay the next month the Metro line ends, and autopay is off by default unless you enable it.

You can have multiple eSIMs installed on the phone but only 1 active at a time. Disable but don't delete the old eSIM.

IMEI1 is a physical SIM card slot. IMEI2 is eSIM.

I got mine delivered today but couldn't activate. The activate button is grey out because the shipping status not updated as delivered.

Did you go to the order status/activation site? Enter order number, last name and zip code. I was able to activate and mine was still showing undelivered.

Find the email they sent you titled "Good news! Your order has shipped."

Then click hyperlinked word "here' in the following line at the bottom of the email
Your next steps: Sit back and relax, your order is en route. You can track your shipment here.

From there fill out the form with Order #, Last Name, Zip Code. **if you are copy and pasting the order # from email watch for added spaces at the beginning or end when pasting into the form and make sure to delete.

Once you check status you should have a link to activate the line on the next page

Anyone test if this works with T-mobile sim card?
I tried and it didn't work. I'm not sure if anyone else has figured out a way.

That one is for G Stylus 5G 2025. Not the same phone. Plus they have different screen sizes (Razr, 6.9) and (Stylus, 6.7).

Anyone have any luck when it was available to order as a second line? I tried and kept on getting payment errors with different CCs . then it went out of stock. not sure of its not allowed as a second device or that it went out of stock.

I was able to get the tablet but I had to spend an hour with CS. they seem pretty cluless and their accent is so hard to understand.
