i think he's referring to opening up the bottom of the Mini M4 and swapping the drive via DFU restore

Macs have the controller built into the chip. The swappable parts are essentially just storage chips on a daughter board. You can't swap an m.2 like this as this contains storage and controller on the same board.

i'm seeing this more often since summer, amazon taking discounted orders, then not filling them for many weeks up to a month, but at least they put you on notice about it. i have 3 prime orders like this pending that are already checked out (will deduct from cc when they ship). it's a good idea to screenshot the item with price just in case their system changes it to current full pricing upon shipping. i have caught them trying to pull this twice by now on first month SnS orders (i was able to cancel it before fill&ship) not yet on regular prime stuff.
