Good thing it's on AppleTV, so it doesn't need to be MA. Apple has the highest bitrate (best quality), and you don't need any Apple products. You can get the app on any device, now including an Android phone.

You can download them on your ssd and still play them even if offline, I think. Just never uninstall them or have a dedicated offline PC with all your games installed to play and as storage

Do you get two different movies in your library to select between the versions?

The original is imo such a better cut since the directors cut removes a lot of the thriller aspect and ambiguity that added to the films vibe.

you don't get two different movies in the library. but when you click on the Donnie Darko movie in the library you'll see it in the movies menu to watch the director's cut. kind of like a special feature found on a Blu-ray disc

Thanks, but I am just playing it in the Apple TV app on an iPad-- and I don't see any menu that allows me to select between the versions! It defaults to the original, and I want to check out the directors cut...

with your iPad turned to the side in widescreen mode while you're watching the original movie you'll see an "extras" option. click on it and you'll see the director's cut. it's also available if you have an Apple TV streaming device for your TV
