I paid $40 at Amazon last time. I checked the old box to see how soon they expire, thinking I may buy 2. I could not find the expiration date, but bought 2 anyway for in-store pickup.

I just got a message the order is delayed, which may not be a good sign.

I've heard that fleas have developed resistance to the two main ingredients in Frontline and PetArmor: fipronil and (S)-methoprene. This could make these products less effective in many parts of the U.S., and I believe the relatively poor recent reviews on Amazon [amazon.com] reflect this.

Still, the price is hard to pass up, so I'll give it a shot in Maine; thanks, OP. In my experience, the best over-the-counter flea treatment is Cheristin [amazon.com], as it uses Spinetoram as its active ingredient. Since Cheristin is relatively new, fleas haven't developed immunity to it yet. It's pricey, but it's definitely highly effective.

I hear Revolution Plus is the most recommended (by vets and pet shelters) one, but it's expensive in the US. I hope all these other brands also would've extensively tested their products before launch, but when it comes to fur babies, I'm hesitant to cheap out. Would really love to hear feedback on how safe and effective these are compared to revolution if someone has used them.

I live in a semi-rural (exurban?) area of Wisconsin with a lot of fields and lawns broken up with wooded areas, and my cats all go outside all year except when there's a lot of snow or it's too cold. I use this only when there is evidence of fleas or when deer ticks are showing up in waves (right now is really bad). Works well on fleas here; the deer ticks it only seems to be partially effective. I use the green Amazon Basics equivalent as well, and both of them only seem to work for 3 weeks, not a full month. This is a great price though, I don't understand them charging what they do for generic medication. Picked up 2 boxes off this deal. Good luck!
