to be clear the reversible air flow doesn't seal when not in use.
also if you need additional foam & call Vornado for it, Vornado doesn't provide it for free. you have to pay.
I believe they charged about ~9 dollars

When we get home in the evening and the air inside is unbearably hot, we use this to force the hot air out an open window, with cool air being sucked in from other open windows on the coolest side of the home. It takes about 15-20 minutes at the highest speed to force out all the hot air, dropping the temperature noticeably.
I put it in the server room at work to keep it cool on the weekends, when the building turns off the AC. It is aimed at a passive exhaust vent in the ceiling.
I've also used B-Air air movers (the little 1/5 horsepower model is much, much smaller than the XPower, but it doesn't move as much CFM and is always loud). Right now we are using the B-Air 1/4 horsepower air mover at home. It's not as big as the XPower but is definitely louder. Any of these three is far more effective than any Vornado we have ever owned.
