Surprisingly you do not need the numbers to tell time. Most clocks only have 4 numbers for the hour, and two small dashes between each, from which a quick glance you get the hour and minutes. If you can read a standard clock you should be able to adapt real quick.I'm talking from experience - I bought a leather band Movado for everyday wear, not intending to use it for time, and I found myself actually using it to tell time - all the time. This was a long time ago - time flies.Your brain doesn't really need the markers as much as you expect. If you're not used to it - just give it some time. For $200 - now might be a good time!

These are hilarious because it is quite difficult to tell time on, making it primarily a piece of jewelry.
No doubt! Anyone buying watches just because they look good as jewelry is hilarious. There's no way I could survive without the ability to tell time that only my watch provides. And jeez...this one doesn't even have numbers on it! You'd need some special skills to get any kind of info from it.

Great value but 39mm size should be listed at top. Too small for many while being perfect for others.

Not 42mm or 44 mm

Anything lower seems feminine

I just tested this theory on my 6 year old. He must have some pretty special skills! He could tell time without the numbers!

I have a crazy amount of watches. I bought this probably 30+ years ago. I still have it. I don't wear it anymore, but I never had any difficult telling time with it. And I probably paid more than then. I know everything is digital now. And people use their phone for the time, etc.. It's a nice little watch with a little bling you won't have any trouble telling time, and if you do, it's probably a personal defect. Not something to do with the watch. Would I buy it again. Sure, it probably wouldn't wear it, but it'll make a nice gift to somebody.

I think this and the women's Movado would make a nice couple's watch.
