Apparently needs proprietary blade replacements due to unique size. Also spits out a lot of dust with bag attached; does better with vacuum but still will get dust in work area. Also loud. If you own full-size tools already (miter saw, table saw) I don't see why you'd buy this unless you really want to save time walking back and forth (so a plus for a pro/daily installer but you're still dealing with dust).

Thanks OP, this will help immensely with the basement floor project.
I've had great luck with any corded Skil products I've owned.

Thanks OP. Starting a flooring project soon, and was wondering how to make the perfect cuts. Great deal.

Proprietary blades and amount of dust kills the deal. Already have a sliding miter that does a good enough job and does not require proprietary blades.
Last thing you want is to be on a jobsite needing to change the blade and you are limited in where they are sold at
Still, a hell of a deal if it would meet your needs

Before I started my floor project I purchased a Ryobi flooring saw. I was going to use the saw for VINYL flooring only. I used it once just to see if it worked and never used it again. I had a miter saw and table saw that could do the cuts. I used the table saw to do the rip cuts but there are other cleaner and easier ways to do the crosscuts than with the flooring saw or miter saw with vinyl. The problem with the flooring saw is the mess it makes with the cuttings. Yes, you could use a vacuum but that just takes up too much space if cutting in the room you are doing the flooring. I did the table saw cuts outside of the house and maybe if you did the crosscuts outside of the house it wouldn't be bad but it would be more work. I have no idea how well it would work with laminate or wood.

Thanks for posting. Good versatile saw for flooring and appears to be just what I need for my project to install wood/laminate floors for several bedrooms and hallways. I was about to buy a laminate floor cutter for the project and would need a table saw for long rips and miter saw for angle and bevel cuts. Does this saw do all the cuts and is the only saw I need for flooring?

I did some poking around and this is exactly what I need. About blade cost and dust concern, a 3-pack blade for $17 is not that bad and will use it in a garage or outside (portability is a plus here). Got 1 and a blade pack, thanks!

If your doing laminate get one of the guillotine style ones so you can cut right in the room your working with zero dust.

Obviously engineered or solid hardwood you need a saw.

Works well with engineered wood and lvp flooring. I imagine works for laminate as well.
As others have said, it is loud and dusty but it gets the job done if you don't have a miter and table saw already. Rip cuts are possible with this floor saw but u have to rotate the guide 90 degrees if in remembering correctly.
Would recommend at this price

Can the floor table be bought separately, and use with different brand saw?

There is a Ryobi saw that is on sale (40 percent off) for now but you have to pay shipping. You will also need a battery.
