Apparently needs proprietary blade replacements due to unique size. Also spits out a lot of dust with bag attached; does better with vacuum but still will get dust in work area. Also loud. If you own full-size tools already (miter saw, table saw) I don't see why you'd buy this unless you really want to save time walking back and forth (so a plus for a pro/daily installer but you're still dealing with dust).

There is a Ryobi saw that is on sale (40 percent off) for now but you have to pay shipping. You will also need a battery.

I never tried this but I believe you can submit a different email and get a one time free shipping. I believe you have to clear your browsing history for the coupon to popup. The way I can get the free shipping code window to popup is with Windows I have an account where I don't have a log in user name and the history is always deleted after I shut down Edge.

Before I started my floor project I purchased a Ryobi flooring saw. I was going to use the saw for VINYL flooring only. I used it once just to see if it worked and never used it again. I had a miter saw and table saw that could do the cuts. I used the table saw to do the rip cuts but there are other cleaner and easier ways to do the crosscuts than with the flooring saw or miter saw with vinyl. The problem with the flooring saw is the mess it makes with the cuttings. Yes, you could use a vacuum but that just takes up too much space if cutting in the room you are doing the flooring. I did the table saw cuts outside of the house and maybe if you did the crosscuts outside of the house it wouldn't be bad but it would be more work. I have no idea how well it would work with laminate or wood.
try guillotine type cutters for vinyl and laminate. Besides contour cuts that you can use jigsaw or multi-tool for and table saw for rip cuts it can handle cutting right at the end cuts without dust or blades to waste. all it needs is few passes of sharpening stone after few hundred of cuts. its best to get solid build one for more positive experience though.

Interesting. Didn't even know this existed. Too bad it can't do long rip cuts, that's the hard part on vinyl. Crosscuts are easy, especially if the vinyl is thin enough to score and snap, or if you already have a miter saw.

If your doing laminate get one of the guillotine style ones so you can cut right in the room your working with zero dust.<br />

Obviously engineered or solid hardwood you need a saw.
Do you know a decent cutter at a reasonable price? I'm looking for 1 to complement this saw, and a decent one costs about the same or a lot more than this saw.

I've been using the Bullet Tools - ES00-2009 for about 10 years and it's working great. I started with a SKIL saw but it was just too noisy and messy to use in the same room while I laid flooring. Sheering floor cutters are definitely the way to go for laminate. I see there's other reputable brands available today on Amaszon like MARSHALLTOWN that offer for way cheaper than the Bullet I bought.

Thanks for the input! I may buy this Cutterex for $90 https://www.amazon.com/gp/product...YSLBF&th=1 to complement this saw.

Looking at the pics on Lowes, it looks like it can do long rip cuts https://www.lowes.com/pd/SKIL-7-i...j8QAvD_BwE

looking at the box, it says cross, miter and rip cuts. rip cuts is what I mainly bought it for, upstairs project that would be a pain to get my table saw up there
