Reviews on it seem pretty good

But I wonder if its being discounted for the reason one reviewer mentions:

"Loved my Giant Stance 2 - not happy with Giant Stance 1
I have a 2 year old stance 2 I have been very happy with and was excited to upgrade. The cassette on this new bike is nothing but issues, been to 2 dealers 3 times and told nothing they can do…."

It was posted earlier I believe. OK bike but comes with rear quick release axle which is actually a big deal for a modern bike, especially a full suspension one. Also add about $150 tax/shipping

it's discounted because it's the discontinued model that's still only being sold in the US. The new version sold in other markets comes with modern thru-axles. I personally dislike QRs on disc brake setups as the inconsistent tension will cause brake rub.

Quick release. More modern bikes are now thru axle but honest QR is fine. It worked for decades and still does.

Quick Release. It has a thin 9mm skewer, and a narrow axle width (135 mm rear and 100mm front). The modern standard Thru Axle is 12mm thick and 148mm wide in the rear and 15mm and 110mm on the front. The thicker and wider axles make for a stiffer frame

Eww ... Sad to see an otherwise solid budget FS taken out of play by QR. I used to think ehhh, no big deal until I got a through axle bike. The rigidity goes a long way, especially when a 200+ person like me has to hit the brakes.

Bike industry as a whole is a little sad in pricing. We lack good middle ground value bikes.

Humm, many years of riding mt trails here in N Cal and have never experienced disc rub from using QR's. Changing from QR to a thru axel setup is a 15 minute easy job and cheap.

Haha..it's not. The switch from QR to thru is easy and cheap. So many post that have apparently never wrenched, even a little, their bikes.

Reading the specs shows it also has a QR hub in the rear like the Stance 1
