I've never used them but online reviews are positive in that they are strong and do the job the first time. Also, these are full size sheets. I'm in for one to try. If unlike them, the way to buy them is via Costco or Sam's Club if you can.

These are a lot thicker and far more durable. While yes, you can use them for whatever you want, their intended use is for bigger, messier jobs around the garage; dealing with grease, oil, coolant, etc.

And for some reason, these and paper towels have rocketed up in price since the Pandemic, and haven't come back down...yet TP has. 🤷 ♂️

I don't know side by side comparison but I picked those from HD about 5 rolls each 98 cents for every day use as paper towel. I believe these are thicker and more reusable than common paper towels and are basically thin rags.
I also saw a roll of these kinds of towels in this deal at HD and they are basically common kitchen towels or car wash towels that are commonly listed here. Normally you get pieces of those towels in a certain number. But here, they came up with this idea of offering them in rolls. However, these towels are definitely more usable than paper towels and more dense than the HD "rag" ones you are referring, but these may be slightly thinner than more thicker individual pieces you have widely available. These can definitely be used for a while before they are stained and oily. Will last even longer if just using in kitchen and not in workshop

FYI these are a much better deal. I do a lot of work on cars and use these all the time, I was skeptical until I used these.

They are not AS good but still pretty great and half the price. They are quality but maybe slightly less absorbent.
