I own this. It's good except that the center legs need "L" brackets added to them or they WILL fold over and then the entire thing will sag in the middle. Mine did.

I know that it says that it holds up to an 80 inch tv (which doesn't exist). Can you realistically slap an 85 inch tv on top of this. In other words, is it wide enough to hold the feet of an 85 inch tv?

Depends on the base or the legs of the tv really. Measure the width of your tv base or distance between its legs. The top of this unit is 70" according to the specs on Amazon.

Leg placement is not standardized for TVs. Measure the distance between the legs left to right as well as front to back, then compare it to the dimensions of the top of this. If it fits.. It sits!

Thank you. I just ordered this one for a dollar more. I liked the barn doors and thought it was better looking.

I prefer that the stand be a bit wider than the TV. This looks good with a 65" to even 75" TV. I don't think I'd put an 80" or larger TV on it.

The one you bought says it supports 60lbs on top surface and the one Op posted supports 200 lbs just in case you didn't read it.

What material is it? Is it particle board or MDF?

We have this that holds Samsung QN85A 85 inch. I have doubt at first because it's was shaky. It's pretty stable when TV is on it. https://walkeredison.com/products...gIluPD_BwE

Do you mean you need to buy extra brackets for better support or make sure attach the center legs according to manual?
