✅ What has some reality:
• Costco did stop selling Xbox Game Pass Ultimate 12-month codes for a while. That happened in 2023–2024 and caused concern.
• Target and other retailers sometimes rotate digital codes or memberships, but there's no official statement saying they're discontinuing Xbox products entirely.
• Microsoft has made controversial moves (like closing studios, focusing more on Game Pass, raising prices), leading to frustration among some gamers and rumors of decline.
🚫 What is not confirmed or likely exaggerated:
• Xbox hardware or services "going up in flames" — There's no evidence Xbox is shutting down or discontinuing Game Pass.
• Target and Walmart pulling Xbox completely — There are no reliable reports that major retailers are dropping Xbox platforms altogether.
• Xbox collapsing in 12 months — Microsoft still invests billions into gaming, new hardware is rumored for 2026, and Call of Duty is coming to Game Pass.
Why These Rumors Spread
• Anger or disappointment over Xbox decisions.
• Retail code changes misunderstood as "they're pulling Xbox."
• Console war emotions (PS vs. Xbox arguments).
Reality Check
• Xbox is NOT ending.
• Game Pass remains a core Microsoft product.
• Retail code changes ≠ platform collapse
Newegg still has PC Game Pass for $30/3 months. 3 months of PC Game Pass converts to 2 months of Ultimate. So $15/month.

https://www.yahoo.com/entertainme... /> <br /> nice chat gpt response haha. I just don't understand the mad rush to purchase a subscription service from this company as evident from all the gamepass posts that have hit front page. To each their own but I wouldn't do anything more than a few months at a time. They might raise the price in another 6 months and everyone that locked in now will come tell me they are sitting on the best investment in their lives. That's fine. I'm not spreading rumors. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I am curious if people are paying attention to their business model.
There business model is to make money and you 100 percent are spewing false rumors. Gamers are the biggest babies in any industry and honestly if I was Microsoft I'd get out of the business. Then you Sony fan boys will love what Playstation equipment and games start costing.
This console generation has generally been a bust. I'm glad I only got the Series S for $180. If I had paid for the X or PS5, I'd feel ripped off.
We'll see what the next one brings, but I don't have high hopes after how this one played out.

There have been several reports by store employees saying their remodels completely remove XBOX from their displays and PDQs, with some providing pictures of the updates to backup their claims. So for anyone to say there is no proof sounds more like denial.Whether it be plans for XBOX to go all digital (which to be honest, is where things have been headed for the past 10+ years) or Microsoft preparing for a new console launch, or them pulling out of the home console race all together are all possibilities, whatever it is something is definitely going on.
All this stuff has been debunked false. Good Lord people we live in a world of AI Bots now just because some random Sony fanboy makes shit up at a Target or Walmart doesn't make it facts.

I guess reports confirming that Costco and Sam's Club no longer selling XBOX consoles and my local Walmarts and Targets having next to no XBOX inventory (accessories, games and consoles) is fake news created by AI and not at all a cause for concern I guess. Not everyone is a fanboy looking for attention you know, I'm mostly a PC gamer nowadays, but I grew up with all of the consoles and last time I saw something like this was with the Sega Dreamcast.
As I also stated, I'm not saying that this is the end of XBOX or anything, but there is definitely something going on behind the scenes.
