I'm pretty sure that USB C PD port will let you charge the laptop, in case you break your power connector on the external charger. At least on my Dell it does.

HP 15.6 inch Windows Touch Laptop Intel Core i3-N305 8GB RAM 256GB SSD Moonlight Blue - Walmart.com (link isn't working)
IPS 300 Nits screen, backlight keyboard, webcam. I'm hoping it has USB-C charging, I can add a dimm to make the ram 16gb, and an additional NVME slot would be great.

The solder particles used for modern RAM chips and other micro-electronics are in the micrometer (10 to the negative 6 power). That is NOT negative to the 5 power or 4th power. Hey, if you can soder something so small that your eyes can not see it... I AM ALL IN.
Particle sizes
For RAM and other fine-pitch microelectronics, manufacturers use specialized solder paste containing spherical particles of solder alloy suspended in a flux medium. The particle sizes are categorized by type, according to IPC J-STD-005 standards:
  • Common types: Type 4 (20–38 µm) is often used for fine-pitch components, but more demanding parts like RAM require even smaller particles.
  • RAM soldering: Type 5 (10–25 µm) is used for ultra-fine pitch components and micro Ball Grid Arrays (BGAs). The solder balls for reballing BGA chips on RAM modules may be as small as 0.35 mm (350 µm) to 0.45 mm (450 µm).
  • Advanced applications: Type 6 (5–15 µm) powder is available for cutting-edge electronics.

With the $279 ryzen 5 IdeaPad slim 3 deal from Lenovo at the moment, this isn't a great offer, especially without a touchscreen and non-upgradeable RAM.
