Slickdeals Website Freezes/Crashes My PC

If I visit the Slickdeals home page with the Chrome browser, my browser becomes increasingly sluggish, when trying to press the arrows to scroll through the home page deals. After a matter of seconds, my browser becomes unresponsive. My task manager shows operations at 100%, so my PC is slow/sluggish as well, to the point of being near unusable. It may take 5+ minutes for a mouse click to respond. I can sometimes close the relevant browser tab if I wait 5+ minutes for mouse clicks, which resolves the issue. Or my computer may crash before that point.
This is a new problem that began less than 1 month ago, and it only occurs on the Slickdeals website. I have never experienced this issue on any other website besides Slickdeals. And 1+ months ago, I used to visit the Slickdeals website daily, and never had an issue. I suspect it involves the "popular deals" panel on the right, as this panel appears blank when the slow/freeze issue is present, as if it didn't fully load.
I tried using Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome today, which does not show the slow/freeze/crash issue, allowing me to create this post.
Note that I use AdLock extension on Chrome.
