Ideal, no. But it will probably work. You always want Unraid or Truenas to talk to HDDs with integrated or PCIe HBAs.

However I'm looking at this for a Proxmox cluster setup.

This is wayyyy more than enough to run a raided nas server lol, this thing has the compute power of like 5 typical modern nas servers. You could run hundreds of drives off this if you wanted.
