This is a decent deal, but honestly, I would stay away from any 13/14th gen Intel chips. They have degradation issues even after the microcode and bios updates. Go 12th gen, Core Ultra 200 or AMD.

I have a 265K and it's great. Also have a 9800X3D and that's great too. AMD is offering a better more reliable chip these days. Surprising but true.

It's not even a price thing, just a reliability thing with 13th/14th gen.

HELP!!! I keep hearing this and I have passed a on two i7 14700f computers in part due to possible overheating issues. I did hear a bios update fixed/helped but still not crazy about the idea. So I have been looking for a Untra 5/7/9 but harder to find a deal on those.

Intel 13th and 14th gen chips issues are overhyped because they mainly showed up for overclockers as motherboards assumed a bigger "safe" range than was actually possible, especially with the 14th gen chips. The return rate went from 2% (past average) to 5%. If you are worried simply download the latest patch which makes sure the voltage doesn't go too high, but will limit your ability to overclock. In addition, Intel has extended the warranty for these chips.
A more common problem is the cooling in this machine is known for being weak, leading the Acer Predator Orion 5000 machine to over heat. If you buy this, best to put in a better cooling system.

Last I checked, Intel was directing warranty repair requests for systems like this to the system builder. I actually originally bought a 13600K before I learned it wasn't just the top SKUs affected by degradation, it was all of them. Also, there are reports of failed chips that were only ever used after the updates.

For decades, dead CPUs were pretty much unheard of. IT pros would see it maybe a couple times a decade and consumers usually never. The 13/14th thing is different and I'll stay way away.

Too many deals on AMD systems and Core Ultra 200 to deal with this. Way less power draw and heat as well.

Microcenter combo deals are your friend if building your own.

I'd personally recommend waiting for a deal that does not include 13th/14th.
