Being that it's woot, should we expect some or most of these are counterfeit?

i swear old people are always the worse. I remember in college I drove a 1957 belair 4 door it had still as original 283 and powerglide transmission at that time like 2003. something broke so went to oreillys and their parts book was wrong and the old man wanted to argue with me since he owned one when he was a teen he said they originally came with with a 327 and the book said that too. I was like there is no way and he started to insult me and say i was to young to know anything. I told him he must be a time traveler since the 327 wasnt even invented till the 60's. he then i think realized he was dead wrong and he did that old man scoff and walked to the back i had to have the young kid to help me and i was like hey just give this part off of a blah blah harvester they had the same engine we found the part and i never again asked an old man for help i would find the youngest kid or a girl cause they would be like i have no idea about that car and i would be like good here is what i need lol.

After getting fake (verified by company) 5 dollar tube of Loctite, I too have Amazon trust issues.

How did you determine it was fake? I've been using red Loctite and it's fairly easy to remove.

I cant recall exactly but it was something grammar related on the tube, and I reached out to the company with lot numbers and they confirmed it was fake.

As far as easily removing red loctite... well I guess I'd have to know how it is being used but my experience with red is I don't use it unless I know Im not taking it off! Very hard to undo (in my applications at least).

There is a lot of fake LocTite especially on aliexpress which flows over to Amazon. But the real mistake is buying name brand Loctite anyway. It's just an overpriced brand name for a common chemical.

Get the Harbor Freight version. It's literally the same thing and much cheaper. Or if you still want Amazon get this. ESKONKE 3 Pack Thread Locker Blue 243 + Basic + Red 271

Loctite is one of those things that are too inexpensive to "risk" imo. A bottle lasts me so long that it "expires" before I even use it all, although I am well aware that it maintains the large majority of its potency. For peace of mind, I stick to the Loctite brand since it is usually something where performance matters far more than a few dollars amortized over two years.

Do you know if any internet experts have ever compared these loctites?

Loctite is very expensive for the amount you get. A decent size bottle of it is going to cost you like 50+ bucks. The small little squeeze tubes are like 8.

Plenty of channels on youtube have done comparisons and tests. Torque Test Channel, Project Farm are two big ones people like. Name brand Loctite never comes out on top and isn't worth the premium over the much cheaper options per the testing imo with the cheaper ones like the Eskonke ones coming out on top

Here is one of them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZSU12LXR4s
